Why UIP at UC Santa Barbara?

In the UIP, University Immersion Program, the focus is on immersion. That means you'll get to live, breathe, and eat the culture of a leading American university for at least three months or more. You can choose to enroll in any undergraduate or graduate class available for the quarter, and you’ll get to know your classmates – the students and professors alike. It's your chance to study alongside the world's leading researchers and engage in the type of rigorous academic work you expect from a program like this.

Advantages of Joining in UIP

  • Undergraduate and graduate courses: earn UC credits to transfer to your home university.
  • Earn a Certificate: enroll in specific professional courses as well, and receive an International Certificate by taking at least 3 professional courses
  • Improve your English skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Receive a Certificate of Completion and a UCSB PaCE transcript by the end of the program
  • Tuition includes access to UCSB email, UCSB facilities, free local transportation, student health insurance, and Handshake (a job and internship online platform for students to find employment opportunities)
