Further Details

Step 1 - Apply

To Submit your Application you will need: 

- High school transcript and diploma (GPA 2.7)
- English language proficiency (TOEFL 75, Duolingo 95, CET4 530, CET6 500)
- Copy of passport
- Proof of financial eligibility 

Step 2 - Summer English Academy

Summer 2020  - August 3, 2020 to September 11, 2020

Coursework will include:

- Academic Reading and Writing
- Language and Culture
- Grammar 
- Speaking and Pronunciation

The English training is 5 hours per day, 5 days a week, for 6 weeks. 

Step 3 - UCSB First Year

The academic year will include the following: 

Fall quarter 2020  - September 24, 2020 to December 11, 2020 
- 1 General education course 
- 3 Academic English language preparation courses

Winter quarter 2021  - January 4, 2021 to March 19, 2021 
- 3 General education courses 

Spring quarter 2021  - March 29, 2021 to June 11, 2021
- 3 General education courses 

Step 4 - SBCC 2nd Year

May 2021, students will transfer to Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) to complete their General Education requirements starting in summer sessions. UCSB will assist with applying to Santa Barbara City College and work closely with advisors to get students enrolled. Please note: concurrent enrollment at UCSB and SBCC will occur for 3 weeks from May 18, 2020 until June 12, 2020.

September 2021, Students apply to the TAG program to gain admission to UCSB. The SBCC Transfer Academy will assist students through this process.

Students then complete 1 full year of study at SBCC to complete required units, Fall 2021 through Spring 2022.

Step 5 - UCSB Degree Completion 

September 2022, Students begin degree completion at UCSB as a matriculated student.
